Rovers is the eldest section of Scouting, and most diverse. Each Rover Crew has its own traditions, interests and personalities. Similar to other sections of Scouting, Rover programs encompass adventurous activities, character building, citizenship and leadership. However the motto and key purpose of Rovers is “service” – service to Scouting and the community. In all cases the experiences, attitudes, and resources of Rovers make activities uniquely enjoyable while continuing personal development and carrying out service in Scouting style. A Rover Crew runs itself, with an elected Crew Leader and executive, supported by an older Rover Advisor and the Region Rover Council.
