Cubs

Ages: 8-11 years
Meets: Mondays 7.15-8.45pm at 1st Eaglemont Scout Hall

Cub Scout activities are based on the natural sense of fun and enthusiasm of the age group, so training is carried out mostly through games and small group activities. A Cub Pack usually consists of four smaller groups called Sixes with around 6 cubs in each, led by an older cub known as a Sixer who is supported by a Seconder. Activities are run by a team of well-trained volunteer adult leaders. Recognising children’s lively imagination, Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book is often used as a theme –combining excitement and action with moral values. This book illustrates the Scouting philosophy with focus on developing loyalty, self-reliance, obedience, fitness, courtesy, and care for the environment.
